London's High Court allows Ablyazov's property sale in Great Britain

London’s High Court has approved the sale of property of the former BTA Bank’s chairman Mukhtar Ablyazov in Great Britain, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the bank’s press-service. “The court has issued the final ruling on recovery of the funds that authorized the managing company KPMG to sell three luxury-class real estate items owned by Mukhtar Ablyazov and located at the territory of Great Britain,” the message states. The court approved the sale of Carlton House at Bishops Avenue in the northern part of London. The building has a 15m hall, libraries, 9 bedrooms, a pool and a Turkish sauna for 12 people. The managing company will also be able to sell over 40 hectares of Oaklands Park land located in Windsor, Great Britain, that has 8 buildings, a forest nursery, tennis courts, lakes, a forest and a helicopter deck. Ablyazov's apartment in St John’s Wood area in London known as Albert’s Court can be sold too. “We consider this ruling an important step forward on the way to returning the bank’s assets worth several billion US dollars embezzled by Ablyazov when he chaired the bank. Now we are able to sell the assets listed in the ruling. We are planning to continue relying on court rulings in returning the bank’s assets around the world,” Managing Director of BTA Bank Pavel Prosyankin said.
